Worked example
Make a contact QR as a 720 px PNG for print up to about A6: enter a name with phone, email, company or site, then scan the download.
On the back of an A6 or smaller business card, a 65-module code needs more printed area than a URL code would. Drop fields you do not need: the company and site can be reached later from the website, whereas name, phone and email are what people expect saved. Each removed line saves modules and makes squares larger.
The contact code is about 65 × 65 modules at level H, so after the default 18 px margin 684 of the 720 px hold the pattern and one module is about 10.5 px. Printed at 300 dpi the contact code is 61 mm wide (0.89 mm modules), fits an A6 card of 105 × 148 mm and reads from about 61 cm.
Common mistake with a 720 px contact code: trusting the PNG's built-in border as the quiet zone. On the contact code the default 18 px margin is only 1.7 modules, while scanners want about 4 (42 px). Fix: raise the margin slider to about 42 px (it goes up to 48), which shrinks the pattern a little, and keep contrast at 4.5:1 or better, since the tool refuses to export a contact code below that.
At 720 px the default centred logo covers 22% of the code width, and with 65 modules the contact pattern is dense, so lower the logo size slider (12 to 32%) or remove the logo.
Check the 720 px contact file before using it: scan the download with two different phones, and for a print do it from about 61 cm, ten times its 61 mm width. At 720 px the result should be this: the phone offers to add a contact with the name, number and email you entered, and the saved contact looks right.
