Worked example

Scan the downloaded file, not the preview, and check the draft shows the right address, subject and body. Close it unsent.

Take a freelancer who prints 100 flyers with a "Book a call" code pointing to contact@example.com. Open the exported chatcument-qr.png, 720 x 720 px by default, on one screen and scan it from a second device, then repeat with a printed proof. A code that only works from the screen where it was generated has not really been tested.

Compare the draft with the payload you copied using the copy-content button. Read the address letter by letter, then check that the subject shows real spaces. Because the tool writes subject spaces as plus signs, a mail app that does not decode them may show Order+question, so look for that in the actual draft.

Measure the file as well. At 720 px with an 18 px border, a 41-module code has modules of about 16.7 px, which is plenty for a screen. For print, aim for modules of at least 0.5 mm, which means a code about 2.2 cm across including the border for this payload; smaller than that and cheaper phone cameras begin to miss.

Finish by scanning with two different readers, such as the built-in camera and a third-party scanner app, at 15 cm and at 40 cm. If one of them only shows the link as text instead of opening a draft, note which one, because some of your real readers will use that kind too.

Input

contact@example.com + subject

Output

Mail draft action

A successful scan proves the draft opens, not that the mailbox exists or that anyone reads it.
