Worked example
Make one code per person, rename files with the person and version, keep a sheet of where each was printed, and reprint when details change.
A contact code goes onto things that last: business cards, a stand banner, an email signature, a conference badge. Because it is static, the real delivery question is how you will cope when a phone number or email changes. Chatcument saves each export as chatcument-qr plus the extension, so rename it with the person and a version, for example mira-park_contact_v02_1440.png.
Think of a studio with four staff who each need a code. Make one per person, never one shared code, and keep a sheet that records name, which fields were included, the date, and which items it was printed on. When one person changes numbers, the sheet shows exactly which cards and signatures must be replaced, and the others are untouched.
Choose the format by where the code lands. Business cards of 85 by 55 mm should use an SVG or 1440 px PNG with a code at least 20 to 25 mm wide; an email signature is happier with the 720 px PNG at about 120 px on the screen; a slide or banner can use the SVG at any size. Copy content gives you the vCard text, which you can store in the sheet so the code can be rebuilt without retyping.
Plan for change before printing. Order a small first run, and keep a reprint budget, because a phone number swap means new cards. If you expect frequent changes, put the stable details (name, company, website) in the code and leave the personal number for a handwritten line on the card, or point the website field at a contact page you can update.
Hand the final file to the printer with a short written spec: size in millimetres, no recoloring, keep the white margin, and send a proof. Then scan the proof with two phones, save the contact, and compare it with the sheet before you release the full run.
Input
Chatcument; example contact fields
Output
BEGIN:VCARD / VERSION:3.0 / END:VCARD
