Worked example

Scan the file, read the title, date, times and place on the calendar import screen, and compare each with the flyer without saving.

Take a school that prints a parents-evening poster. Scan chatcument-qr.png and read the title, the weekday and date, the start and end time and the location line. Compare each against the flyer text. Pay special attention to the date digits, since a month and day swapped on input is the easiest silent mistake to make.

Then set the phone to a different time zone, if you can, and scan again. Because the code stores a plain local time with no zone marker, the import should show the same wall-clock time; if the poster is for an event in one city and a visitor scans from another, the calendar may still place it in their local zone. That is exactly what to write beside the time on the poster.

Compare the imported text with the payload from the copy-content button. DTSTART and DTEND should read as eight date digits, a T and six time digits, with seconds 00. If you chose an overnight event, confirm the end shows on the next calendar day.

Check legibility too. A full record is about 146 bytes and a 65 x 65 grid, so at 720 px the modules are about 10.5 px; for print, 0.5 mm modules need roughly 3.4 cm width including the border. Scan the printed proof at poster distance and again at 15 cm.

Input

Event title + start and end

Output

Calendar event payload

Verify the displayed appointment in the calendar; a correct-looking payload does not prove the time zone is what you intended.

How do I check a code before printing or sharing it?

Scan the exported file at its final display or print size, including after adding a logo or changing colors. Check the decoded content, not just whether a scanner detects a code. Test the destination link and keep clear space around the code. Decorative illustrations on this site are not usable QR codes or barcode samples.
