Before converting PNG to JPEG, find every transparent or semitransparent pixel, because the converter fills them with solid white.

Open the PNG over a dark checkerboard or a dark page first. A shop owner exporting a 1200 × 1200 px logo with a soft drop shadow will see that shadow fade into a grey halo on white, and a white wordmark on a transparent canvas will simply disappear.

Also look at what the picture contains. Photographs convert well, but flat logos, screenshots and thin line art tend to pick up fuzzy ringing around letters once they are compressed as JPEG. Chatcument keeps the pixel dimensions unchanged, so confirm the PNG is already the size the destination expects.

The usual mistake is assuming the transparent area will stay clear or turn black. It becomes white, and that is fixed in the tool. If your layout needs another colour, place the artwork on that colour in your editor, export a flat PNG, and convert that file instead.

Do one quick check before you start: zoom into a soft edge at 200 percent and ask whether it still looks right on a white page. A single batch accepts up to 12 images and 48 MB of input, so sort the files that pass this check into one batch.

Keep the original PNG untouched in its own folder while you test, so a surprising result never costs you the editable file.
