Download Instagram post — free online tool

Download a public Instagram /p/ post as an image, a video file or a ZIP of up to 20 items, and see its resolution before you save it.

What to know

A /p/ link covers three different outcomes, and the preview tells you which one you have. A one-photo post shows an image with its pixel size, a video post shows a duration and MP4 options, and a post with several slides shows an item count with a ZIP as the result.

Image posts are saved in the format Instagram serves, normally JPG, and you get a single Original quality row because there is nothing to scale. Video posts add quality steps below the source and the full list of audio formats, so a talking-head clip can be saved as a 128 kbps MP3 for transcription.

Mixed posts, where some slides are photos and others are clips, are bundled together in the same ZIP. The ZIP is built on the server only after you press the button, and each file inside is limited to a share of the job budget, which is why very large clips inside a post can cause a size error.

A post link that belongs to someone else is not yours to republish just because it is public. Saving a picture for a mood board, a private archive or a licensed reuse you have agreed with the owner is different from reposting it under your own name, and tagged people or visible minors add privacy concerns on top of copyright.

How to use Download Instagram post — free online tool
  1. Open the post in Instagram, tap the three dots, choose Copy link, and paste the https://www.instagram.com/p/… address.
  2. Look at the preview facts: Image or Video, pixel size, and for slideshows a count such as 5 items.
  3. Keep Original quality for pictures; for a video post choose a row like 1080p or 480p depending on the size shown.
  4. Tick the rights box, press Prepare selected file, and then Download file; multi-item posts download as a .zip.

Quick answers

Why does my /p/ link give a ZIP instead of one picture?

The post has more than one slide, so the service gathers every image or clip into a single archive. A one-photo post downloads as a plain image file.

Is there a limit on how many slides a post can have?

Up to 20 items are bundled into one ZIP, matching the number of slides Instagram allows in a carousel. A preview above that count shows no item total and falls back to the single main file.

Can I save a post that I was tagged in but that belongs to another account?

If it is public, the link works technically, but the post still belongs to its author. Ask them before you reuse it, since being tagged does not transfer any rights.
