TikTok downloader — free online tool
Save public TikTok videos and photo posts from tiktok.com, vm. and vt. short links, as MP4, images or a ZIP, with audio extraction for videos.

What to know
TikTok addresses come in three shapes: the full /@creator/video/ID, the photo-post form /@creator/photo/ID, and short links such as /t/CODE or the vm. and vt. subdomains that the app creates when you press Share. Short links keep their query string, because the redirect depends on it.
The two content types behave differently. A video produces an MP4 with a quality ladder and audio rows, while a photo post is a swipeable set of pictures that comes back as one image or a ZIP of up to 20. Photo posts have no audio rows, even though the app plays music over them.
Inspection first uses the full-featured route, and when that route cannot read a video, the service falls back to the public embed data of the video. That fallback needs the numeric ID in the address, so a short link has to resolve first, and a link that cannot be resolved produces the unavailable message.
TikTok sounds are licensed for use inside the app, and clips often show people who did not expect to be redistributed. Keep your own TikToks as an archive, and when you want to reuse someone else’s video, ask the creator in writing, including for the music, before you publish it anywhere else.

How to use TikTok downloader — free online tool
- In TikTok press Share, then Copy link, and paste an address like https://www.tiktok.com/@creator/video/7234567890123456789.
- Wait for the preview and note whether it says Video or Image, along with the duration or the item count.
- For video pick Original quality or a lower step; for a photo post the Original quality row downloads everything.
- Tick the rights box, press Prepare selected file, and save the MP4, the image or the .zip.
Quick answers
Do vm.tiktok.com short links work?
Yes. The vm. and vt. hosts, as well as /t/CODE paths, are accepted and keep their query string. If a short link no longer resolves to a public post, the preview reports the media as unavailable.
Why can I get audio from a TikTok video but not from a photo post?
Audio rows are generated only for video previews. A photo post is classified as an image, so only the pictures are offered.
Does the sound I hear in the app belong to the person who posted it?
Not necessarily. Many TikTok sounds are licensed tracks or another creator’s original audio, so owning the video does not mean you own the music.
