Name files so slide order survives sorting, keep the source link beside them and record who gave permission.

A reliable pattern is brand_springlaunch_carousel_01.jpg through _10.jpg with leading zeros, so slide 2 does not sort after slide 10. Keep the files in one folder per post and add a small text file with the permalink, the owner account, the quality option you chose and the item count from the preview. That four-line record is what lets anyone repeat the job later.

Picture an agency that runs a store account and archives each campaign for the client. When the client asks months later for the original slides to rebuild a poster, the folder, the link and the permission note answer every question without opening Instagram. If the client wants 1080 × 1350 portrait slides back on the platform, check the current upload guide, because accepted ratios and limits change.

The common mistake is treating a saved copy as free to reuse. Content made by someone else stays theirs: reposting it as your own, removing a visible name or watermark, or using a photographer image in an advertisement without a licence can violate their rights and the platform terms. Ask first, get the answer in writing and credit the creator where they ask for it.

For team handovers, share via your normal drive, keep a master copy untouched, and make edits on duplicates. Do not pass the files to third parties beyond the permission you hold, and delete working copies when the project ends.
