The on-screen message names the cause: invalid link, profile or live video, expired preview, restricted source or busy queue.

If the field complains right away, you probably pasted a profile, a story or a live stream, which the tool refuses with a request for one public content link. If the preview loads and then Prepare says it expired, wait no longer and start again from the link. If the message says the source is temporarily rejecting requests, the Reel may still be public; try again after a while rather than repeating the click.

Imagine an editor whose preview shows 1080 × 1920 but whose saved file is smaller. That usually means a different option was selected from the list, so check which radio button was active before pressing Prepare. If the saved clip has no sound, compare with the live Reel, because the original may be muted or its licensed music may behave differently outside the platform.

A job that sits at the same percentage for several minutes can be stopped with Cancel and started again, and a queue busy message resolves itself within a short wait. A source above the available limit needs a smaller option. A Reel from a private account, or one deleted since you copied the link, cannot be recovered by changing the URL.

If the Prepare button is grey, tick the rights confirmation and make sure an option is selected. If the browser blocks the file after it is ready, allow downloads for the site and try the download button once more.
