What to know
This page starts with the Choose signature image button, which takes a picture file of your signature and places it as an image layer near the lower right. A transparent PNG works best, because a JPG signature carries its white paper as a visible rectangle on top of the picture.
To make one, sign in dark ink on plain white paper, photograph or scan it straight on in even light, crop to the ink and remove the paper so the strokes sit on transparency. Save it once and you can reuse the same file on every image. If you would rather sign on screen, the sibling layer type Draw signature on the main tool does that, with a pen-like round stroke.
Once the layer is on the picture, drag it onto an empty patch, pull a corner handle to size it with its proportions kept, and lower Opacity to somewhere around 70 to 90 so it blends with the paper or photo. Holding Shift stretches the signature out of shape, which is almost never what you want. The arrow keys give single-pixel nudges for lining it up with a signature line.
The export is a flattened copy in the source format at quality 0.92, so the signature becomes ordinary pixels. A pasted image is a visual mark, not a cryptographic or certified electronic signature, and whether it is accepted depends on the document and the party asking, so confirm the requirements before relying on it.

Quick answers
Why does my signature have a white box around it?
The file has no transparency, so its paper background is placed with it. Use a PNG with a transparent background instead.
Is a pasted signature image legally binding?
Not by itself in many cases. It is only a visual mark, and acceptance depends on the document type and the requesting party, so check their rules.
How do I keep my signature the same size on every document?
The tool does not store sizes between sessions, so note the width in pixels you use, or scale your signature file to a standard size beforehand.
Can someone remove the signature afterwards?
It is flattened into the pixels, so it cannot be toggled off, but anyone can copy a visible signature, so avoid sharing high-resolution images of signed documents.
