Download Xiaohongshu video — free online tool
Save a public Xiaohongshu video note as MP4 from an explore or xhslink.com link, with lower steps by short edge and audio-only formats.
What to know
A video note links to the same kind of address as a picture note, so the type is only known after the preview. Here the video is inspected through the video route first. If that does not return a cover image, the service reads the note page’s own data to fill in the thumbnail, size and duration.
The note data describes the H.264 stream: its width and height, its duration in milliseconds, its size in bytes and its audio bitrate. These numbers feed the estimates, so a 30-second note with a 128 kbps audio track is about 0.5 MB as audio only, long before the file is prepared.
Original quality is the MP4 that the public stream gives. Lower steps are named by short edge and are listed only below that size and only when the service can produce them. Audio rows (MP3, M4A, Opus, WAV and FLAC) come with it, for creators who want a voice-over or a track.
Xiaohongshu videos are usually product demos, tutorials and vlogs, often made with a brand. The brand may hold the commercial rights and the creator the personal ones. Use a saved video for study or a private archive, and obtain permission from the creator, and the brand when there is one, before you place it in your own page or advert.

Quick answers
What happens if the video preview has no thumbnail?
The service then reads the note page itself to fetch the cover, size and duration. If that page is not public, the preview ends with the unavailable message.
How large is the audio of a 30-second note at 128 kbps?
About 0.5 MB, which is 128 kbps for 30 seconds divided by eight. At 192 kbps the same note is close to 0.7 MB.
Can I save a note shared as a short xhslink.com address?
Yes, short links are accepted and kept intact, and the service follows them to the note. Paste the address alone, not the sentence the app copies with it.
