Worked example

Name the MP3 for the person who opens it, keep the lossless master next to it, and check the destination upload limit before you send.

The tool names its download after the source with the mode appended, such as interview-mp3.mp3. Rename it to something that survives a shared folder: episode-014_v2_128k.mp3 records the project, the revision and the bitrate, so nobody has to guess which file was the 192 kbps version.

Size drives the channel. Many email services cap attachments around 20 to 25 MB, so a 4-minute song at 192 kbps (about 5.8 MB) fits easily, while a 40-minute interview at 320 kbps (about 96 MB) does not. For a podcast host or a store page, check the platform current upload guide for its accepted bitrate and file size rather than assuming.

A common mistake is overwriting the master. If you export MP3 on Monday and the client asks for a different edit on Friday, you will want the WAV again, not a second lossy generation. Keep one folder for masters and one for deliverables, and note the settings (192 kbps, 44.1 kHz, stereo) in the filename or a text file.

Before sending, open the file from the folder you will attach it from and play the first and last ten seconds. If you export the same project regularly, write your usual settings down once so the next batch matches.
