The saving on Rentcars comes in two layers. The first is the rate itself: the site compares more than 350 rental companies, and its pages talk about savings of up to 30% on the route you search. The second is cashback, which returns up to 10% of a booking as credits in your digital wallet.

Cashback is added automatically when you book a car. The amount shows in yellow on the booking screen before you confirm, so you see what you will earn on that exact rental. There are no membership levels, and every member earns at the same percentage.

Credits are not instant. They show as pending until the rental company confirms the car was picked up, which takes 40 to 60 days on domestic bookings and 50 to 70 days on international ones. After that you have 18 months to use them.

When you spend credits on a new booking, they can cover up to 30% of the advance charge. A cancelled booking, a no-show or an unused reservation cancels the credit that came with it, so the discount fits trips you are sure about.
