A relay is most useful when it sits high and stays on all the time, which is exactly where there is no mains power. Solar nodes solve that with a panel and a battery in one weatherproof unit.
The MeshTower S1 V2 is a solar-powered outdoor node built on the MeshSolar design. It combines LoRa, Bluetooth LE and an SMA connector for an external antenna, and it is sold with or without GPS.
The SenseCAP P1 has a 5 W panel and an SX1262 radio, with a bracket and hoop for pole mounting. The P1-Pro includes the GPS module and batteries, while the base P1 leaves out both and the 18650 cells have to be bought separately.
The ThinkNode M6 uses an nRF52840 with GNSS, a 6 W solar panel and two 18650 batteries, and it has waterproof I/O for external sensors. The listing says only the Meshtastic version is available at the moment.
Because these are heavier purchases, a percentage code matters more here, and either NEWMESH15 or MESH010 can be used.
