Your first Meshtastic device

Meshtastic is a community project that turns inexpensive LoRa radios into a long-range messenger for places with no reliable network. A beginner's first problem is usually hardware: a bare board needs a case, a battery and the right antenna before it is usable outdoors.

The Meshnology N35 solves that by selling the whole thing as one set. It contains an ESP32 LoRa V3 board, a 3000 mAh battery, a case, an antenna and an OLED screen, and Meshtastic support is pre-installed. The product page calls it beginner friendly and ready to use out of the box.

The N30 is the smaller and cheaper route. It is built on the Heltec ESP32 LoRa V3 platform, has an SX1262 radio, WiFi and Bluetooth LE, a 1100 mAh battery and a 0.96-inch OLED, and comes in black, red or white.

Buy two so you have someone to talk to. Both devices need the same Region and Modem Preset to exchange messages, and each radio pairs with one phone at a time over Bluetooth.

A storewide code lowers the total, with NEWMESH15 for a first order and MESH010 for later ones.
