Shuffleboard normally needs a long pub table and a trip out. The Woodestic version keeps the idea at a size that fits a living room: the playing surface is 131 x 21 cm and the whole board measures 145 x 35 cm.
You slide weighted pucks into zones numbered one to three, trying to stop on the edge of a higher score without falling off. The pucks are stainless steel with birch plywood caps, and the gutter is lined with white felt.
The surface gets the same multi-layer finish as the other Woodestic boards, hand-sanded and polished so pucks glide with a little wax. Birch plywood and MDF form the frame, and the leather-covered ditch comes in dark chocolate or cognac.
Prices run from $699 to $919 across the Bronze, Silver and Gold sets, with steamed beech, cherry or walnut for the board colour. The board weighs about 11 kg and is 5.5 cm tall.
It is covered by the 97-year guarantee and the 30-day trial, and a board wipe at $12.30 is sold in the accessories section for keeping the surface clean. Rules are provided in English and Hungarian.
