Carrom is an Indian board game in which you flick a striker to pocket discs in the four corners. Woodestic describes its version as the classic remastered with a contemporary European look, and the photographed board has a black frame and an orange playing surface with a printed centre pattern.
The playing surface measures 74 x 74 cm, the whole board is 89 x 89 cm and it is 5.5 cm tall. At 16 kg it is a solid piece of furniture rather than a toy, which helps it stay put when the striker hits hard.
A multi-layer finish gives the striker and the discs a glide Woodestic compares to ice, and the powder used on it is plant-based. The board is hand-painted birch plywood, polished by hand after coating.
You choose steamed beech or cherry for the board colour, walnut or ebony for the ditch, and a Bronze, Silver or Gold set. Prices range from $699 to $919.
To protect it, the accessories section lists a Carrom Carry Case at $87.90 and a disc rack at $7.90. Like every Woodestic game it includes the 97-year guarantee and the 30-day trial.
