Crokinole is a flicking game: you shoot small wooden discs across a round board towards the centre hole and the scoring rings. Woodestic has made its boards since 2012, and the tournament version follows the international dimensions with a 66 cm playing surface and a 78 cm overall diameter.
The Tournament Bronze Set costs $699 and lets you pick the board wood (cherry, steamed beech or walnut), the ditch colour and two disc colours. Each board is hand-painted, resin-coated and then polished until discs glide with only a little wax.
The Elite Set at $1,499 keeps the same size but replaces the painted surface with an inlaid pattern of individually cut woods. It ships with specialised cues and a dust removal brush, and it is meant to hang on a wall or sit on a stand when nobody is playing.
Scoring is easy to learn: discs landing in the rings are worth 15, 10 and 5 points, and the centre hole is worth 20. Eight bumpers around the middle make that hole harder to hit, so a quiet family game can turn tense quickly.
Every set comes with a 30-day trial guarantee, so you can play for a month and still send the complete set back in its box. Rules are available as PDFs in English, German and French.
