Python classes for kids who want real code

Python Start is built for two kinds of beginner: children with no experience at all, and Scratch or Roblox players ready for a text-based language. In lesson one they already type their first lines of code.

The nine modules begin with variables, operators and conditions, then reach loops and lists. Along the way students make a digital business card, a password manager and chatbots with branching logic.

From module six the work turns collaborative. Students build a clicker game as a team, then use Pygame Zero, a library made for games, to add keyboard controls, object physics and collisions.

Drawing with the Turtle module gives abstract ideas a visible result. By the end each child has at least seven original projects and a certificate of completion.
