Minecraft programming for ages 8 and 9

Minecraft Programming is the youngest coding track at Kodland, written for ages 8 and 9. It suits long-time fans as well as kids who are only now finding the game.

Lessons take place in the Minecraft Education environment. Students learn Redstone, build self-sustaining farms and design their own structures and mechanisms.

Programming goes through MakeCode, a block-based language. Kids write simple algorithms, command their agent and shape the world with code, using conditions, loops and variables.

The outcomes are practical: automated farms, traps and controllable mechanisms, plus a feel for crafting recipes, mob behavior and biomes. The course also builds a habit of testing an idea, seeing it fail and improving it.

Many children move on to Roblox or Python afterwards, and START10 takes 10% off the first course for new customers.
