A magnetic cooler that clips onto your phone

A magnetic cooler snaps onto the back of the phone and pulls heat out through a thermoelectric chip, so a long session does not end with a hot grip. The Cryo Cooler 8 Pro is REDMAGIC's eighth-generation design and is priced at $59.

Its cooling engine packs 124 PN junction pairs and peaks at 36W, while an 11-blade fan and an aerospace-grade aluminum heatsink carry the heat away. REDMAGIC Labs reports an 80°C drop when a constant 10W source heated to 95°C is cooled for 20 minutes, which is a lab result, not a promise for every phone.

A large N52 magnet holds it on phones with magnetic backs. Phones without magnets should take the Two-in-one version, whose back clip has a 1/4-inch thread for tripods and streaming rigs. A temperature-sensitive layer changes colour to show cooling status, and a 36dB quiet mode keeps the fan down.

Black and white are both offered. Free shipping on its page starts above $400 and code RMWLCMSAVE10 asks for more than €400, so a cooler works best as an add-on to a phone or tablet order.

FAQ

Will it stay on an Android phone?

Choose the Two-in-one (Magnetic & Back-clip) version for phones that lack magnetic attachment support. The Magnetic version relies on the magnet alone.

How loud is it?

The page describes a whisper-quiet 36dB mode for when you want less fan noise.

Is it only for REDMAGIC phones?

No. The product page speaks to iPhone, Android and live-streaming setups, not just REDMAGIC handsets.
