Korea VAT calculator
Korean standard 10% VAT in whole won, from a tax-exclusive or tax-inclusive amount. 110,000 inclusive splits into 100,000 supply plus 10,000 VAT.

Uses Korea’s standard 10% VAT rate. Exempt, zero-rated, and special transactions are not included.
What to know
This page applies only Korea standard VAT rate of 10 percent and works in whole won. A checkbox tells it whether the number you typed already includes VAT, and it returns the total, the VAT and the supply amount (gonggeup-gaaek).
With a tax-inclusive amount the formula is supply = round(amount / 1.1) and VAT = amount - supply. 110,000 splits into 100,000 and 10,000. With a tax-exclusive amount, VAT = round(supply x 0.1) and total = supply + VAT, so 12,345 gives VAT 1,235 (1,234.5 rounds up) and a total of 13,580.
Rounding is the reason the inclusive and exclusive paths can differ by a won. 100,005 inclusive gives supply 90,914 and VAT 9,091. The entered number is rounded to a whole won first, and the largest accepted value is 999,999,999,999.
Zero-rated, exempt and special transactions, simplified taxpayers and invoice-level rounding are not modelled. Use it for quick checks on quotes and receipts, and confirm filing figures with the tax office or a tax professional.
Restaurants and shops in Korea usually display tax-inclusive prices, so the inclusive path matches a menu: a 16,500 won dish contains 15,000 of supply amount and 1,500 of VAT, and four such dishes cost 66,000 with 6,000 of VAT.

Quick answers
How do I get the pre-tax price from a tax-inclusive price?
Divide by 1.1 and round to a won. For 55,000 that is 50,000, with 5,000 of VAT.
Why can VAT differ by 1 won from my receipt?
Receipts may round per line or per invoice, while this page rounds the total once. A 1 won gap is usual on small items.
Does the page handle exempt goods?
No. Only the standard 10 percent rate is applied, so exempt or zero-rated items need a different treatment.
Is the result a VAT filing figure?
No. It is a quick estimate. Use official invoices and ask a tax professional for filing.
