Waterproof PVC bathroom wall panels

Redoing a bathroom does not have to mean tiling. PVC wall panels interlock with a tongue and groove edge, which removes the grout lines that collect mould and take an afternoon to clean.

PVC is non-porous, so the panels are waterproof and hygienic, and the retailer lists them as Class 1 fire rated. A bowl of warm water and a cloth wipes off soap and grime.

There are two thicknesses to know about. Wall panels are 8mm, and the shower panels made for wet areas are 10mm, some with Boniguard protection that resists scratches and everyday wear.

Finishes include marble, stone, concrete, chevron tile effects and plain white in matt or gloss. A matt surface hides water marks better, while gloss brightens a small room.

Panels are made in batches, so tell the shop before you order if you may need extra from the same batch later. They also suit kitchens and ceilings, not just bathrooms.
