Birdwatching means standing still for a long time, often on uneven ground. The Sitpack photo of a man glassing a heath with his dog beside him shows exactly that moment, with the leg planted in the moss.
A single telescopic leg is easy to place where a tripod chair would wobble. You set the length, lean back on the seat head and keep both hands free for binoculars.
