Uppercase text
Convert text to uppercase with your page language's rules: ß becomes SS, ligatures expand, accents stay, and full-width Latin letters convert too.

What to know
Uppercasing runs over the whole text and keeps line breaks, spacing, digits and punctuation in place. The Spanish word canción becomes CANCIÓN with its accent intact, while Hangul, kana and Chinese characters, which have no case, come through unchanged.
Some letters grow when capitalised, so the length is not always preserved. The German sharp s expands to two letters, which makes Straße (6 characters) into STRASSE (7), and the ligature fi expands to FI. Check the Characters figure in the counter if you are working against a limit.
Full-width Latin letters, common in Japanese documents, convert as well, so abc turns into ABC and stays full-width. Because the rules come from the page language, the same text can be treated slightly differently on a language where a letter has a special capital form. Digits and punctuation are not affected, so a mixed string such as ab-12 only changes its letters.
Typical jobs are building uppercase constants from a list of names, producing codes and licence-plate-style identifiers, and shouting a heading for a banner. The change is not reversible: lowercasing STRASSE gives strasse and not straße, so keep the original if the exact spelling matters.

How to use Uppercase text
- Paste the lowercase text, such as a list of product codes like ab-12 and cd-34, into the Text input box.
- Read the Output panel, where the same lines appear as AB-12 and CD-34 with hyphens and digits unchanged.
- Open the counter and check Characters if a word such as Straße must stay within a fixed length.
- Copy the result, or save it using the download icon as chatcument-text-output.txt.
Quick answers
Why did Straße become STRASSE, one letter longer?
The German sharp s has no single-letter capital in normal usage, so uppercasing expands it to SS. The total length therefore grows by one.
Does uppercase keep Spanish accents?
Yes, canción becomes CANCIÓN. The accent stays on the capital letter, as proper Spanish orthography keeps it.
Are full-width letters converted?
Yes. Full-width Latin letters such as a become the full-width capital A, which is useful for Japanese text containing wide Latin characters.
Can I get back the original lowercase?
Not reliably. Lowercasing STRASSE returns strasse and not Straße, so save the original text when the exact spelling matters.
